Lately I had to configure the code access security for the Microsoft .net Framework 2.0 on several clients. While on computers with the Software Development Kit (SDK) Version installed it’s not a problem, but you will have trouble with the Redistributable Version. The mscorcfg.msc applet which can be used to configure all parts of the .net framework isn’t included anymore in the latter one. Thanks Microsoft. Do I have to download the SDK version now which has a size of 354MB to only set some configuration settings?
After searching a while I was able to find a nice solution. The way I like is to create a deployment MSI package which included all the changes and can be deployed over the network in any way you want. It makes it necessary to download the SDK once but I need that in any way.
The nice solution has gone – may be M$ has ordered to be deleted….
The nice solution still exists. After some searching I’ve noticed that he has created his own domain. I’ve updated the link. Thanks for the notice.
