Upgrade to WordPress 2.3

Tuesday this week the brand-new WordPress 2.3 aka “Dexter” was released. There are some nice new features and changes which will enhance your weblog. I upgraded today to this version and was directly confronted with following error message: WordPress database error: [Table ‘%table%.wp_terms’ doesn’t exist] SELECT t.*, tt.* FROM wp_terms AS t INNER JOIN wp_term_taxonomy AS tt ON t.term_id = tt.term_id WHERE tt.taxonomy IN (‘category’) ORDER BY t.term_id ASC I searched the web to find a solution to my problem because I didn’t understand why that could happen while upgradingContinue readingUpgrade to WordPress 2.3

Newsgroup for German localization

Sorry that I’m a bit behind with that information but my vacation conflicts with my current list of todo items. Probably Robert or Axel already told about it that the German localization community has it’s own newsgroup and mailing list for product localization now. The idea to improve the German localization started a long time ago (as far as I remember it was at FOSDEM 2006) while having a talk with Abdulkadir who is responsible for the Firefox translation. We had seen that our community is totally scattered and thatContinue readingNewsgroup for German localization

New photoblog online

Starting from today my website has its own photoblog. After month of inactivity in updating my gallery with new pictures I decided to have a better and more comfortable way of publishing. To find the right tool which gives me all features I want to have wasn’t an easy job. I tried a lot of them but wasn’t satisfied at all. Thanks to Manuel who has given me the note to have a look at pixelpost. Within some days of work in modifying existing themes I found my favorite deliciousContinue readingNew photoblog online

Mac OS X system address book integration

Yay! It’s so amazing. I really cannot believe it that the first part of the system address book integration is done. Bug 203927 which handles reading from the system address book and exists since April 2003 has been fixed by David yesterday. So the new awesome feature is now available with todays nightly builds of Thunderbird and SeaMonkey. It’s not fully stable but you can step through all your addresses within the address book. Even the autocomplete feature is working within the compose window. Time is up. From now onContinue readingMac OS X system address book integration

Bitte nicht füttern…

Mmh schade, hatte nichts dabei. Mit was hättet denn Ihr diesen hungrigen Weidezaun gefüttert?

Popularity of Mozilla, Firefox, and Co.

What you are thinking about which folks have knowledge about Mozilla, Firefox, and Co? Only Hackers, Designers, and persons who are addicted to the internet? You will be totally wrong… Yesterday I had a nice experience. It happened in the morning. During breakfast which I had together with my parents at home my doorbell was ringing. Normally I’m at work at this time and I also didn’t expect to see anybody. So I ask through our entry phone and a man said that he has a parcel for me. StrangeContinue readingPopularity of Mozilla, Firefox, and Co.
